He's an expatriate Pom who,
With his ten pounds in hand,
Took that ocean liner
To settle in a new land .
He worked really hard
To build his new life
Built a family unit
Two kids and a wife.
Nearly fifty years later
With time on his hands
He sits and pontificates on
The state of his birth land.
He seems to think that
He has a given right
To give us all the benefits
Of his wisdom and insight.
Never seems to realise
He's fifty years out of date
That his mental meanderings
Come half a century too late.
His greatest contribution to
His once home land it seems
Was to take advantage of that
Subsidised emigration scheme.
If he's really sincere in his wish
To supposedly put things right
Maybe more than fifty years ago he
Should have stayed to help the fight.
